Material choice: PMMA vs PC vs PET-G and ACM vs HPL

PMMA, polycarbonate or PET-G — and ACM or HPL?

For transparent work: PMMA (acrylic) is the clearest and polishes best, polycarbonate is virtually unbreakable but scratches sooner, PET-G sits in between and forms well. For sheet material: ACM is light and flat and the standard for facade signage; HPL is hard and wear-resistant and suits interiors and visible parts. The choice follows from application, indoor or outdoor use, impact resistance and finish. Unsure? Milplex advises based on your application — reply within 1 business day.

Short answer: choose PMMA (acrylic) for clear visible work and clean laser edges, polycarbonate when it must be unbreakable, and PET-G for vacuum forming and food-safe uses. For panels: ACM is light and weatherproof (façade/signage), HPL is robust and decorative (interiors/counters). Unsure? Send your request — we advise based on the application.
